    The nature and properties of the ore deposit are discussed in the context of the surface excavation operations.

  • Topsoil and overburden.
  • Thickness.

  • Dip/strike.
  • Geology and hydrogeology.
  • Footwall and hanging wall rock formation.

    Output requirements relating to the removal of topsoil is discussed in terms of quantities, cost, storage requirements and future application. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Output requirements relating to the removal of overburden are discussed in terms of legal and operational requirements. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Output requirement includes but not limited to:
  • Quantities.
  • Equipment requirements.

    Load/haul factors are calculated and discussed in terms of production requirements and the excavation schedule.
