This Unit Standard will be useful for persons who are required to conduct an issue-based risk assessment within a mining environment to ensure a healthy and safe working condition. It provides knowledge and understanding of what underpins the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

  • Prepare for risk assessment.
  • Assess the risks.
  • Initiate remedial and follow-up action.
