PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the managing of productivity in a Wholesale and Retail unit. Individuals are tasked with the identification and interpretation of productivity indicators so as to analyse productivity and plan for the improvement thereof through the drafting and implementation of actions plans to address operational performance and productivity.

On achievement of this unit standard the learner will be able to:
  • Identify productivity indicators in own area of responsibility in a Wholesale and Retail Unit.
  • Analyse productivity indicators in order to determine organisational progress.
  • Implement and manage action plans to improve productivity in a Wholesale and Retail Unit.

    Productivity indicators and information sources are identified as it applies to in own area of responsibility.

    Information sources and existing organisational reports are accessed and levels of current productivity for the unit determined.

    Organisational reports and information sources may include but is not limited to:
  • Financial indicators such as budgets and budget variances, income statements, balance sheets, unit performance analysis reports, marketing performance, sales performance, meeting of individual and organisational performance targets, product turn-over and performance.

    Information is interpreted and the requirements for addressing current levels of productivity as it applies to the unit are determined.

    Analyse productivity indicators in order to determine organisational progress.
