PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the scheduling of suppliers to deliver products to a Wholesale and Retail unit in accordance with a receiving schedule and urgency of deliveries.
Learners found competent in this unit standard will be able to draft a receiving schedule and will be able to maintain supply performance as per organisational needs and requirements through the addressing of defaulting suppliers and allocation of new delivery slots. The factors to be taken into account when drafting a receiving schedule are idenfied as per organisational requirements. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE |
Factors include but is not limited to quantity of stock, characteristics of stock, capacity of receiving clerks, receiving times, organisational policy on allocation of delivery slots, urgency of delivery. |

The time frames required for delivery are determined for different suppliers of goods to the organisation. |

A receiving schedule is drafted and suppliers allocated to the schedule so as to ensure a smooth and equal daily flow of supplies according to requirements. |
