A learner credited with this unit standard will be able to inspect, test and maintain 3-kV DC high-speed circuit breaker (HSCB) in traction sub-stations in an electrical environment as well as ensuring the continuity of power supply in the Rail Sector.

    The work party is fully briefed on the equipment to be worked on in terms of safety regulations.

    The environment and personnel are protected according to safety measures which are available as per worksite safety requirements.

    A test rig is correctly and safely connected to the 3-kV DC high-speed circuit breaker (HSCB) in traction sub-stations as per maintenance standard requirements.
