PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for learners working within a Real Estate environment, seeking to acquire or enhance the competences to be a Principal in a Real Estate business or working within a Real Estate environment specialising in management or sales or rental. The acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to their understanding of the sector and functioning in the workplace. This standard will enable the learner to develop a practical understanding of the principles of auctioneering and how to manage a business or division that focuses on this function.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Analysing auctioneering as a separate and unique marketing channel in Real Estate.
  • Apply relevant acts to auctioneering operations.
  • Managing sales and marketing plans to ensure they are effective.

    Legal documentation is administered according to legislative requirements for auctioneering Real Estate, Estate Agency Advisory Board, Code of Conduct and the Financial and Fiscal Commission of SA. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Auctioneer and vendor rolls are completed according to standard practices. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The conditions of sale are drafted and explained to relevant parties.

    The different types of auction sales with reserve price or without reserve price are explained to effect proper auctioneering practices to meet client needs.
