PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is aimed at ensuring that leaders in outdoor adventure based experiences provide participants with quality outdoor adventure activities and challenges from which they can draw life-skills and other experiences which will benefit them in future.
This unit standard will help leaders achieve professional levels of understanding and execution of adventure based experiential learning and will help ensure beneficial, enjoyable and safe experiences for participants. The training of persons who become expert in facilitating rich outdoor learning experiences should benefit the leader-instructors themselves through enhanced professional conduct and employability. The increased expertise will also benefit the companies that employ these professionals, and thus the sub field, through the enhanced services offered, as well as the implicated clients who will experience enriched learning opportunities.
