PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to define the additional logistical needs of a person with a disability to enable his or her full participation in an event as well as the need to operate on an inclusive basis in a sport environment. Furthermore, the learner will be able to describe the international and national affiliation structures covering sport for people with disabilities.
This unit standard will give learners a variety of competencies within a specified context: to demonstrate their ability to integrate learning and performance, to evaluate both and to identify support or further learning required. The use of this unit standard allows higher education and training providers to create innovative opportunities in which students are encouraged and guided in practising their newly learned competence.
