This standard is aimed at people who work in or intend to work within various industries.

Those learners who acquire the outcomes of this standard will know about and be able to demonstrate an understanding of quality principles used in the various industries.

The qualifying learner is able to:
  • Define the terms Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Quality Management.
  • Explain the requirements and processes used to ensure effective Quality Control.
  • Describe the factors that affect product quality.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the consequences of poor quality control.

    Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence against numeracy and literacy at ABET Level 3 or equivalent.
