PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify high risk areas and implement measures to ensure security of the store, stock and cash points. Learners are also able to follow up on bad debt to recover funds

The qualifying learner is capable of:

  • Implementing strategies to ensure store security
  • Implementing strategies to ensure cash security

    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in numeracy and literacy at NQF level 3 or equivalent.

    The strategy developed is in line with safety standards and endeavours to minimise the risk to stock loss or shrinkages.

    The strategy is implemented and monitored according to standards and objectives of the strategy.

    Stock loss is analysed after implementation to ensure success and corrective action implemented according to standards.

    Bad debt list is obtained and analysed from authorised personel. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Action plan is developed to address bad debt list which covers who will be contacted, when and how, in line with credit control policies and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Bad debt is followed up using company system and following credit control policies and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Findings and arrangements are recorded and reported in the required format and timeframe.
