PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of this Unit Standard is to enable Construction Contractors to plan and program, coordinate project activities and implement costing and reporting procedures on a construction project. |

1. Establishment of a site includes the de-establishment after completion.
2. Programming format is limited to a bar-chart (Gantt chart). 3. Pre-planning includes analysis and fixing of allowable unit costs for activities, programming, and establishing of management information systems. 4. Establishment of a work area includes: survey and setting out, access, adherence to safety and health aspects, security, and provision of resources. |

Assessment of learner achievements takes place at providers accredited by CETA (RSA, 1998b) for the provision of programs that result in the outcomes specified for the Certificate in Construction Contracting. CETA is responsible for moderation of learner achievements of learners who meet the requirements of this unit standard. |
