PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Persons dealing with this unit standard learn about trimming, inspecting and sorting manufactured polymer compound products. The required steps of production from the operating bench to sorting the finished product are outlined.

Qualifying learners are able to:
  • Load polymer compound product on to operating bench.
  • Inspect polymer compound product being manufactured.
  • Trim polymer compound product in line with product specifications and process requirements.
  • Sort finished polymer compound product.

  • Anyone assessing a learner or moderating the assessment of a learner against the unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant Education, Training, Quality, Assurance (ETQA) Body, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
