This unit standard is for people who work in the manufacturing, engineering and technology field. The person credited with this unit standard is able to handle, transport and store gas cylinders within the boundaries of an industrial work site.

    Personal protective equipment is checked and used according to Occupational Health and Safety Act. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Storage areas for individual cylinder classification are identified to ensure safety of persons in the area. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Cylinder condition inspections are carried out according to safety standards. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Non-conformance to safety requirements are reported and recorded as per organisational requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Cylinders are stored according to work site practices and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 
    Cylinder colour coding system and grades are understood and used for making storing decisions.
