PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Purpose:

The purpose of the learning is to enable a learner to be able to produce and present photographic images in either an analogue or a digital photographic environment.

This Unit Standard contributes to the competence of those learners who want to pursue a career in the Photographic and/or Design sector, and contribute to greater levels of production and quality in this sector. The Unit Standard encompasses image development processes and a variety of presentation techniques of photographic rendered images.

Credited learners are capable of:
  • Selecting suitable process for output according to brief criteria.
  • Processing images for a chosen output media or application.
  • Rendering photographic image outputs according to specified criteria.
  • Presenting and storing final photographic images according to identified criteria of the photographic brief.

  • Assessment of learner achievements takes place at providers accredited by a relevant ETQA (RSA, 1998b) for the provision of programs that result in the outcomes specified for this Unit Standard.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with a relevant ETQA.
