PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners working towards this standard will be working within sport education function, or golf club environment providing support services to golf clubs, golf coaching, and golf event management, where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to one`s job. This standard will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills for planning a golf day event from concept to completion.

The qualifying learner is capable of:

  • Checklists, guest lists, initiations and responses, aide memoire, timesheet, 2nd tee-start, shotgun start, scorecards, information sheet and local rules, vouchers, budget and notice re- amateur status.

    The importance of liaising with and visiting the host club regarding the requirements of the golf day is understood. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Requirements include, but are not limited to.
  • Numbers, documentation, access, event space, branding, dress regulations, catering, location, golf cart numbers, tee off times and other facilities.
     

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The importance of promotional items and prices for the success of a golf day is discussed.

    The importance of guest invitations, options and invitation design to the success of a golf day is explained with examples.
