PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners who demonstrate competence as described in the outcomes of this unit standard will be able to monitor and control the production of final platinum group metal (PGM) ingots, grains and sponges from their refined salts using any of the locally available equipment configurations. The process ranges from the feed of the PGM salt up to the removal of the final product in its metallic ingot, grain or sponge format.
