    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2
    Draw cam profiles.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Cam profiles are described and explained in accordance with standard industry practice.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Cam profiles are drawn by constructing a displacement diagram indicating construction lines, within agreed time frames.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The displacement diagram is drawn, indicating construction lines, within agreed time frames.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
The shaft is shown as an outline and is hatched according to organisational requirements.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
    Produce sectional drawings.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Sectional drawings are explained according to organisational and client requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Sectional drawings are produced with full section, half section, cutting planes, partial section, revolved sections and removed sections.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
Machine parts are drawn incorporating all the details in accordance with standard industry practice and organizational requirements.
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE
Range of drawings details includes, but is not limited to:
  • Interpenetration curves, fillet radii, instructional notes, machining and surface texture symbols, limits and fits.

  • SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4
    Produce detailed mechanical drawings.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Detailed drawings are explained according to organisational requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Parts of an assembly drawing are dismantled according to organisational requirements.

Primary views are drawn incorporating all the details in accordance with standard industry practice and organizational requirements.
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE
Range of details includes, but is not limited to:
  • Dimensioning, sectional and outside views, machining and surface texture symbols, ISO limits and fits, instruction notes and conventional representation of drilled and tapped holes, bolts and nuts.

  • SPECIFIC OUTCOME 5
    Produce an assembly drawing.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The components given in a detailed drawing are assembled according to standard industry practice.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Primary and sectional or outside views of the assembly are drawn according to scale.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
Item numbers and parts lists are notated in the drawing according to standard industry practice.

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS

PROVIDERS CURRENTLY ACCREDITED TO OFFER THIS UNIT STANDARD:
This information shows the current accreditations (i.e. those not past their accreditation end dates), and is the most complete record available to SAQA as of today. Some Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionaries have a lag in their recording systems for provider accreditation, in turn leading to a lag in notifying SAQA of all the providers that they have accredited to offer qualifications and unit standards, as well as any extensions to accreditation end dates. The relevant Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionary should be notified if a record appears to be missing from here.
