PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will enable learners to explain the historical development of make-up and reproduce the make-up designs of historical periods.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
  • Describe the historical development of make-up.
  • Explain the simulation of the make-up of historical periods.
  • Apply make-up to simulate historical period.

    It is assumed that a learner will be competent in:

    The choice of make-up products for selected historical periods is explained in relation to skin colour and given objectives. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The principles of make-up are explained in relation to creating the make-up appearance of selected historical periods. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Principles of make-up include but are not limited to:
  • Principles of colour blending.
  • Make-up process and procedure.
  • Make-up placement for related periods.
     

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Application techniques for selected historical periods are explained in line with given objectives.
