PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for people in the automotive engineering industry who are expected to diagnose and repair fuel system components in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer service manuals, in a safe and aware manner.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:
  • Read and interpret the job instructions.
  • Prepare to conduct tests.
  • Test and diagnose faults.
  • Repair the faults.
  • Apply safety procedures during the repair and assembly task.
  • Restore work area, complete and process documentation.
