PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This standard has been designed for a learner who will carry out post-production and finishing operations on a manufactured product. There are a variety of post production processes and finishing operations activities depending on the context in which the learner is located. The learner will learn about the importance of meeting customer requirements and dispatching the product/component appropriately.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
Finishing operations include clamping, placing into fixtures or jigs, cleaning off residues, polishing, wiping, washing, dusting; lifting and removing product, conditioning, annealing or post-cure, spraying, punching, teaming.
Finishing procedures may include marking, labelling and stamping; packing, wrapping and stacking, simple product testing such as functionality testing, bundling, strapping, coiling, straightening, binding, reeling. |
