This unit standard reflects the skills, values and knowledge required by people in the field of Occupational, Health and Safety who are responsible for measuring environmental thermal conditions by means of a whirling hygrometer and takes the appropriate action.

Qualifying learners can measure wet and dry bulb temperature.

    The importance of measuring thermal conditions is explained in accordance with specified requirements.

    The whirling Hygrometer's principle of operation and the relationship between wet bulb and dry bulb temperatures is explained according to manufacturer's specifications.

    The range and limitations of the whirling Hygrometer is explained in accordance with specified requirements.

    Reports are completed and submitted in accordance with legal and site-specific requirements.
