PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this unit standard is to enable all procedures and activities in the slots environment: layout, types of gaming machines, slots procedures to be understood and monitored. The individual should develop skills that will enable accuracy of the monitoring procedure.

On achievement of this unit standard, the learner will be able to:
  • Explain and demonstrate the role and important aspects of monitoring.
  • Comply with correct operational procedures and associated regulations.
  • Demonstrate and explain the relationship between monitoring and payouts.
  • Demonstrate and explain the relationship between monitoring and slot machine maintenance.

    Routine monitoring procedure related to slot machine maintenance is outlined in the cases of both routine maintenance and non-routine maintenance.

    Slot machine components are identified and an explanation given of the function of each.

    Proper recording and reporting of slot machine maintenance is conducted according to organisational requirements.
