PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for learners who need to brief and debrief teams/groups of people in terms of the task at hand. This unit standard will enable learners to prepare and plan for a briefing and debriefing session, facilitate the session and be able to conclude the session.

A learner credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Prepare and plan for a briefing session.
  • Facilitate a briefing session.
  • Facilitate a debriefing session.

    The most appropriate way of conveying information is selected in according to the task at hand or task completed.

    The session area or facility is setup to ensure maximum participation by all present.

    Success and failures of the completed task are determined according to the order of events during the execution of the task.

    Follow up assignments are allocated to team/group members.

    Findings are summarised, analysed and evaluated in line with purpose of the session and the task completed.

    Information is captured in a report format for presentation to the appropriately higher office bearer.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
