PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for individuals working in a pharmaceutical outlet that sells products or services to clients. Individuals credited with this standard function under the supervision of a pharmacist and carry out established and familiar procedures in familiar environments. These individuals are able to approach clients in a professional manner and also in a manner that identifies the client's needs, match products and services to identified need and close the sale within the legal framework.

It is assumed that the learner is competent in:
