PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of the learning is to ensure that tangible heritage resources are safeguarded in terms of the impact of environmental factors, deterioration, public access, security and disasters, by applying preventive measures and interventions aimed at conserving especially material collections.
The protection of heritage resources, including heritage sites, buildings, institutions, objects, etc, is imperative for the preservation of such resources. The long-term preservation and retention of heritage resources ensures that they remain accessible for future generations. Credited learners are capable of: |
