The learner achieving this unit standard will be able to:
  • Set objectives and criteria, design and implement assessment models, and analyse and interpret assessment data for the purpose of evaluating extension services in a simple setting.
  • Formulate appropriate conclusions and recommendations based on the results of an evaluation of extension services in a simple setting.
  • Extend their learning and practice into project evaluation, and evaluation of extension services.
  • Contribute to ensuring accountability of extension.

  • Basic knowledge of the concept and purpose of evaluation.

    The criteria to be used to measure the identified aims, objectives and outcomes are identified and explained showing how they will measure the objective(s) of the evaluation. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Select or design assessment models for the purpose of evaluating extension services in a simple setting.

    Potential evaluation models are reviewed and critiqued in terms of the agreed framework and the intended outcome(s) of the evaluation.

    An evaluation model appropriate to the extension service to be evaluated is selected or designed and explained and justified in terms of the agreed framework and the intended outcome(s) of the evaluation.

    The stakeholders to be included in the evaluation are identified to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Data collection instruments are designed in accordance with the agreed framework and the intended outcome(s) of the evaluation and which are suitable to the identified stakeholders.

    Conduct the evaluation of the extension service.
