PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for learners working at a supervisory level in the gaming industry. The learner will gain an in depth understanding of emergency count procedures and the implementation thereof according to pertinent legislation. The sub-field will benefit by having emergency count procedures conducted efficiently, adhering to compliance standards.

On achievement of this unit standard the learner will understand and be able to:
  • Follow appropriate procedures when implementing emergency count.
  • Follow appropriate process when conducting emergency count.
  • Accept emergency count into cash desk.
  • Develop a plan to avoid emergency count.

    On completion of this unit standard the learner should be ready to develop learning in further, more complex processes related to a managerial role in the implementation of emergency count procedures.

    Necessary procedures are enforced to ensure that the operation runs smoothly.

    All relevant documentation is utilised to continue the emergency count.

    Follow appropriate process when conducting emergency count.

    Statistics for the drop or handle are retrieved from the gaming department. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Bill-validators/drop boxes are retrieved from the gaming floor involving relevant personnel.

    Count procedure is conducted in the count room according to company procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Relevant documentation is completed according to company procedure. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Emergency count procedure is performed accurately according to organisational procedure.

    Emergency count procedure is performed according to gaming board requirements.

    Circumstances resulting in an emergency count are identified and analysed as they occur in the workplace.

    Preventative measures are put into place to avoid circumstances resulting in an emergency count from arising.

    A set of procedures is devised to prevent the recurrence of circumstances which would result in an emergency count.

    The set of procedures are put into practice in the workplace.
