PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of learning is to be able to make recommendations regarding reprints, revisions, new editions, new titles, or out-of-print titles by monitoring the performance of published titles. Credited learners are able to obtain information and feedback regarding published titles, and use this information to determine the plan of action regarding previously published titles.
Making recommendations based on performance feedback can be applied in various contexts, and this competence improves a learner's ability to learn. The coordination of back lists is required for the maintenance of publishing programmes, and competent coordination of back lists contributes to effective product development and production processes in publishing, and specifically contributes to effective commissioning.
