Learners who demonstrate competence as described in the outcomes of this unit standard will be able to undertake an independent maintenance task on a gas installation at a customer's site.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 |
The client is consulted to clarify situation according to employer's policies and procedures. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE |
Clarification of the situation should include establishing a basic understanding of the problem, accessing the site, locating the system and any other relevant information, scheduling a suitable time for the maintenance and clarifying fees payable where applicable. |

The maintenance function is planned according to the specific job-, client and internal requirements. |

Planning may include scheduling, tools, equipment, materials, consumables, other resources and additional or specific assistance required. |
