PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will be useful for people working in local authorities as environmental health practitioners charged with noise control. It will assist them in the validation of noise infringements. They apply the by-laws, facilitate issues between complainants and offenders, and initiate further action where this becomes necessary, including notices and legal proceedings.
This unit standard will recognize the knowledge and essential skills required to measure the characteristics of a noise source using sophisticated noise level measurement equipment.
