PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of this Unit standard is to create and deliver audio and/or visual content output, such as digital video or versatile disks (DVDs), for limited distribution, in various required formats. Credited learners can determine technical delivery and distribution requirements and ensure that outputs meet these requirements. In the film and television industry, creating outputs can include translating sound into digital formats before sound editing (e.g. using Open Media Frameworks), processing picture into specified formats, translating film/episodes for rough cuts/viewing onto DVD for limited distribution, changing older output formats to present-day formats and systems (e.g. film, video, digital, Betacam, etc.).
