PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners credited with this unit standard will be able to identify and evaluate the different sources of information that will assist them in making the best decisions regarding self employment opportunities. The qualifying learner will enhance professionalism and promote best practice in the subfield.

In particular, on completion of this unit standard, the qualifying learner is able to:
  • Identify current competencies and potential areas for development.
  • Design a development plan to meet the needs for self-development.
  • Implement the development plan in line with organisational procedures.
  • Reflect on the effectiveness of the development plan.
