PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
  • This unit standard is intended for those individuals who are responsible for promoting and displaying merchandise in an informal retail business.
  • Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to build, ticket and maintain promotional displays throughout the promotional period, subject to stock availablity, in order to promote sales and the image of the organsiation.
  • Persons credited with this unit standard can display merchandise in an appealing manner, within broad guidelines to promote sales within a retail environment. They will also be able to maintain housekeeping of displays whilst preventing shrinkage and losses.

    Appropriate pricing methods are used to meet the needs of the store as well as the characteristics of the product.

    Soiled, damaged, illegible or incorrect labels/tickets are identified and corrective actions are taken.

    Price changes are actioned according to the policies and procedures of the outlet.
