PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners credited with this unit standard are able to implement community recreation programmes designed on objectives and the availability of facilities. Upon completion of the unit standard the learner will understand that the essence of a recreation service is in the programming.

On completion of this unit standard the qualifying learner will be able to:
  • Describe community recreation programming.
  • Explain programme by objectives and leisure facilities.
  • Define programme actions and overcoming problems.
  • Prepare a recreation programme evaluation.

    A protocol is developed to evaluate a recreation programme. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Protocol includes: type of activities in a programme, target group, number of participants, duration of activity, problems encountered, and any other item that will affect the sustainability of the Recreation programme.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Monthly reports of the Recreation service delivery are compiled and presented.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed against this unit standard (including through RPL) may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance body (ETQA), or one with an appropriate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or one with an appropriate MOU with the relevant ETQA.
