This unit standard is for persons working in the International Trade environment especially within exports. The learner is able to ensure that packaging and labelling requirements meets specific market requirements.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
  • Interpret the market requirements and cultural market preferences for packaging/labelling specifications.
  • Define the cost implications of compliance to packaging and labelling requirements.
  • Ensure that the packaging and labelling of products are compatible with electronic control systems and processes.
  • Establish marking, packaging and labelling quality control system and process.
  • Ensure that the packaging and labelling complies with the intellectual property and branding requirements.
