PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for persons working in the International Trade environment especially within exports. The learner is able to control export stock.

This unit standard is intended for learners who will obtain a solid knowledge base relating to exports, have a sound understanding of the key terms, rules, concepts, principles and theories. The learner will be able to select and apply central procedures and will have the ability to solve well defined, but unfamiliar problems.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
  • Establish order processing and stock level monitoring systems for completed export products and component parts/raw material.
  • Develop an export warehousing and stocking strategy and policy in line with overall company strategy.
  • Manage the inputs and outputs of bonded goods.

    Component parts/raw material purchase ordering and stock level monitoring systems are explained in terms of the company's policies and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Order processing and stock level monitoring systems are established, monitored and updated according to company's policies and procedures. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Develop an export warehousing and stocking strategy and policy in line with overall company strategy.

    The completed export product stock level monitoring system is implemented in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.

    The importance of an export warehousing and stocking strategy is explained as it relates to the overall company strategy.

    An export warehousing and stocking strategy and policy are formulated to support the overall company strategy as they relate to different products and/or services and markets.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The legislative requirements for the control of bonded goods are explained as they relate to different products.

    The differences between bonded, manufacturing and rebate warehouses and free trade zone areas are explained as they relate to International Trade environment.

    The inputs and outputs of bonded goods for specific foreign market are evaluated and appropriate action is taken for different products and/or services and markets. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • Anyone assessing a learner must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or an ETQA where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) exists with the relevant ETQA.
