PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to manage assets by receiving and dispatching it into and from a bulk storage facility. This unit standard will enable persons to understand the concept of bulk storage and will also enable them to understand the specific areas of concerns around bulk storage facilities in terms of safekeeping, and risk of loss of assets.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Describing duties in a vault storage facility.
  • Receive and dispatch assets according to standing operating procedures in a given situation.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Equipment used in a bulk storage facility is described according to its uses. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Security equipment required for safe keeping of assets is described according to when and how it is used. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Occupational Health and Safety principles which relate to a bulk storage facility, is described with examples. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The consequences of not treating security information confidentially are explained with examples. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Receive and dispatch assets according to standing operating procedures in a given situation.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Manners in which to received and dispatch assets are matched according to their priority and classification. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Security measures pertaining to the receiving and dispatching of assets are described according to organisational procedures. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Security measures may include but not limited to: access control to/from workstation, access control to/from loading bay, CCTV cameras available and un-obstructed, crewmember identified and authenticated.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Assets are dispatched for daily assets in transit operations and received according to organisational procedures. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Assets may include but not limited to: cash, precious stones, traveller's cheques, money vouchers, bullion, jewellery or related items that have a high intrinsic value.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Assets and documentation are reconciled to verify accuracy and correctness. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Discrepancies are identified to inform decision-making. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 
    Documentation is checked to ensure that assets received and dispatched during a shift are accounted for handing over purposes.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
