An individual credited with this unit standard is able to access and utilise Electronic Information Systems and identify system malfunctions. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
It is assumed that learners are already competent in:
  • Network Control familiarisation.
  • Enabling technology fundamentals.
  • Producing and using spread sheets for business.
  • Demonstrating the ability to use electronic mail software to send and receive messages.
  • Producing word processing documents for business. 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    Only two of the following ranges are required for full credits:

    Range 1: Load dispatch control.

    Electronic Information systems includes, but not limited to frequency tracker, Encor, Phoenix and Couger.

    Information retrieved includes, but not limited to AGC, standby, AGC modes settings, reserve market, contract, system monitoring, frequency, ACE, NERC violations, time correction, regulation, over and under generation, status page, hourly sendouts, ten minute reserves, dam levels, set standby peak.

    Range 2: Power distribution control.

    Electronic Information systems includes, but not limited to SCADA and outage management system.

    Information retrieved includes, but not limited to outage management report, system monitoring, tagging, inhibits, limits, manual dressings and line flagging.

    Range 3: Voltage control.

    Electronic Information systems relevant to a voltage control environment.

    Information retrieved includes, but are not limited to daily/hourly reports and system voltage status reports.
