PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for all persons working in an organisational unit, and for inclusion in all occupational qualifications. It is also intended to serve as a template to be used by different Standards Generating Bodies at different NQF levels for.
People credited with this standard are able to explain how individual actions affect the productivity of an organisational unit and to frame and implement an individual action plan to optimise productivity within that unit. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
It is assumed that people starting to learn towards this standard are able to explain their roles in an organisation and to relate to the world of work, and to explain the principles of supply and demand, and the concept production (unit standard 11785).

1 I can explain productivity as a sum of the performance of all the members of the unit (the performance of the individual influences the productivity of the whole unit, and vice versa).

2 I can explain how the level of productivity of my unit is measured, what it currently is and why it is at this level.

3 I can explain how my actions contribute to the productivity level of my unit procedure

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard or will assess this unit standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA.
3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.

4. Therefore, anyone wishing to be assessed against this unit standard may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution that is accredited by the relevant ETQA.
