PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner achieving this unit standard in combination with context expertise standard(s) will be able to operate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic tools and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with legislation. This competence will enable the learner to work in an efficient manner, which will contribute towards the overall efficiency of the organisation. This competence will enable the learner to understand the use, care and basic maintenance of this equipment. This will ensure that breakages and stoppages are kept to a minimum and equipment is used in accordance with safe work practices. This competence will advance the learner's own expertise and employability in both the water sector and other related jobs. |
