Operate water treatment systems used in refrigeration and air-conditioning installations without injury to persons or damage to equipment or environment.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The commonly applied chemicals for treatment of chilled water, condenser water and hot water systems as used in air-conditioning and refrigeration plants.

Explain and demonstrate the safety precautions to take and the personal protective equipment (PPE) to wear when handling biocides and other chemicals used in treating the water.

1. The safe handling procedures of biocides and each of the other chemicals must conform to the requirements of the manufacturer of each product are listed and explained.

2. Chemicals are handled using personal protective equipment and in accordance with the requirements of each manufacturer.

Dose each circuit with the correct chemical(s) and in the amount prescribed in the analyst's report.

The assessor must have knowledge and experience of air-conditioning or refrigeration.
