DEFINITION OF TERMS WITHIN THIS UNIT STANDARD:

    1. Access flooring: These are floors with removable panels which, when removed, give access to under-floor electrical cabling. Water entering the under-floor cabling could cause severe damage. Such floors are typically found in computer rooms. For the purposes of this unit standard access flooring will also refer to floors where there is a high presence of electrical charged installations.
    2. Contact time: This is the time required by the chemical to loosen the soil in the mopping solution. In the case of disinfectants achieving effective floor disinfection, this contact time is 10 minutes.
    3. Hard Floors: Can include but is not limited to concrete, terrazzo reconstituted marble, quarry tiles, terracotta, ceramic, porcelain, slate, wood and steel grids.
    4. Kentucky Mops: Long cotton mop head fixed to a mop handle with mop clip.
