PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The learner credited with this unit standard will be able to prepare and install OHTE conductors safely and efficiently according to approved specifications and instructions under isolated and earthed conditions thus contributing to the safe running of electric trains as well as ensuring the continuity of power supply in the rail sector.

Successful learners may be certified by the Rail Authorities as competent to prepare and install overhead track equipment conductors under isolated and earthed conditions.
