  • Solve problems and demonstrate flexibility in reallocating activities in adverse weather conditions.

    Plan and prepare for work task. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Job instructions are interpreted correctly in terms of the relevant operational activities organizational requirements. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Numbers of supervision and labour required, ratio of supervision to labour, type and/or number of tools, equipment and stores, vehicle number and size, duration to completion e.g. organogram and time schedule.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The daily quantity and type of task for each class of labour is allocated according to the requirements of the particular field operation. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    If relevant the method of infield measurement is explained. If support functions or sequential tasks occur the labour ratios are explained and utilised as required by the particular field operation.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Operational flexibility to change to another field activity with proper work allocation in the event of adverse weather conditions, fire, or danger is explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Tools, equipment and stores required by each class of labour are assigned as per the requirements of each relevant field activity. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Descriptions are provided of how the tools and equipment should be utilised and the merits of alternatives where relevant.

    Optimum routes are selected and explained for the transport of labour, store, tools, equipment, and field products for the relevant field activities. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Optimum and safe loading and storage best practices are explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Resources required for loading and unloading and possible alternatives are identified and allocated so as to use vehicles optimally.

    Organize vehicle and equipment maintenance and cleaning.

    Maintenance scheduling and the adapting of production accommodates maintenance requirements.

    The importance of daily service, cleaning schedules and their timing is described in terms of the impact on machinery, equipment and production.

    Decisions to move to alternative field operations are based on clearly understood criteria and are justified by prevailing and anticipated conditions.

    Explanations are provided regarding the re-organization required to optimize the efficiency of a move to another field operation.
