The person credited with this unit standard is able to manage the resources associated with maintenance. The learner will be able to minimise the consequences of failure and to review trends. They will be able to evaluate options in order to make appropriate choices and recommendations for resource requirements

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Planning maintenance resources.
  • Implementing maintenance resource plan.
  • Managing the maintenance resource plan.
  • Evaluating implementation and recommending alternative plans to improve the use of maintenance resources.

    The resource plan is monitored with regard to the utilisation of resources.

    Control measures are implemented in accordance with organisational standard operating procedures to ensure that resources are optimally utilised (e.g. checklists).

    Evaluate implementation and recommend alternative plans to improve the use of maintenance resources.

    The review process for resource and logistical forecasting is used according to standard operating procedures in the required format and time frame.
