Apply the prescribed safety practices when shipping and dispatching wool and mohair bales. 
OUTCOME RANGE 
The range includes but is not limited to: Personal protective equipment (PPE), personal protective clothing (PPC), housekeeping, forklifts, access routes, tools. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
The importance of wearing the appropriate PPC for shipping and dispatch of wool and mohair bales is explained. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
The correct use of PPE when shipping and dispatch of wool and mohair bales is demonstrated. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
The operation of a forklift, for the transporting of wool and mohair bales, as per the company's SOPs is demonstrated. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
The safe and responsible use of bale handling tools is demonstrated. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
The use of the prescribed access routes to transfer wool and mohair bales for shipping and dispatch is demonstrated.

The procedures for the extraction of the required bales are demonstrated. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
The marking of the bales, according to the delivery advice and the company's SOPs is demonstrated. 

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
Transfer the located bales to the shipping and dispatch area. 
OUTCOME RANGE 
The range includes but is not limited to: forklifts, shipping instructions, standard operating procedures, reasons for checking, mark bales as per shipping instructions.

The procedures for the transferring of the bales from the isles to the despatch area are demonstrated.

The further checking and marking of the bales, according to the shipping instructions is demonstrated.

The reasons for 'double checking' and marking the bales are explained.

Load the road transport and pack the shipping containers with the required wool and mohair bales.

The loading and securing of road transported bales is demonstrated.

The importance of providing adequate protection for the road transported bales is explained.

The function of the various documentation that is used in the despatch of wool and mohair bales is explained.
