PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for people using two-way radios during wildfire suppression operations.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:
  • Communicate via radio.
  • Establish reasons for varying signal strengths and take corrective actions. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
