PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard are required by people in the field of General Draughting.

This unit standard provides a broad introduction to the background of drawing as well as the identification and description of drawing office layouts and equipment. It is the starting point for a learner in this sector. The focus is knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in relation to the learner's own context and/or experience of the world of work. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
It is assumed that learners are already competent in:
  • Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    The workflow process for drawings pertain to the fields of general draughting, mechanical draughting, architectural / civil draughting, structural steel detailing, electrical draughting, piping and instrumentation draughting. Plan will include time, quality, quantity and deliverables.
