PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners who are entering the field of 3D computer aided design require the skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard.
The unit standard covers the basic commands needed to draw simple 3D models. Learners who have completed this unit standard will be able to set up a 3D model and paper space area and draw a basic 3D model. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
It is assumed that learners are competent in:

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 |
The difference is indicated between a solid and a surface. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 |
A model is presented using settings and appropriate values. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE |
SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 |
Identify and apply the correct spatial or pre-set coordinate system in the 3D model space. |
OUTCOME RANGE |
This include functions and facilities of work planes and user coordinate systems (UCS). |
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 |
The Cartesian and polar coordinate system are applied when starting a design. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE |

PROVIDERS CURRENTLY ACCREDITED TO OFFER THIS UNIT STANDARD: |
This information shows the current accreditations (i.e. those not past their accreditation end dates), and is the most complete record available to SAQA as of today. Some Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionaries have a lag in their recording systems for provider accreditation, in turn leading to a lag in notifying SAQA of all the providers that they have accredited to offer qualifications and unit standards, as well as any extensions to accreditation end dates. The relevant Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionary should be notified if a record appears to be missing from here. |
