PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will enable the learner to offer palliative care to the patient as well as psychological support to the patient and the family members during the illness and through the process of dying.
The learner will function within the scope of practice of an enrolled auxiliary nurse as formulated by South African Nursing Council Regulations, institutional policies related to specific occupational settings and the parameters of the capabilities of the learner at this level.
